Hundreds of Washington businesses are announcing that they are standing together in united opposition to I-1515, which would repeal our state’s non-discrimination laws that for 10 years have ensured fair and equal treatment of transgender Washingtonians.

Washington Businesses Won’t Discriminate includes major local economic engines such as Amazon, Alaska Airlines, Microsoft, Vulcan, Adobe, Google, and many more.

Many small Washington businesses have also joined in opposing I-1515, putting up window signs that say “This business won’t discriminate” and “This business agrees, Washington is for everyone.”

Spokane small business owner Kris Dinnison says “Treating all customers and employees equally under the law has been good for business and good for Washington. My small business doesn’t need more uncertainty and the threat of lawsuits that would come with I-1515.”

Amazon is generously hosting the event to kick off of this coalition featuring Seattle Mayor Ed Murray, Voice finalist and Tacoma native Vicci Martinez, and more. Hundreds of people are expected to attend. The event is also a fundraiser for Washington Won’t Discriminate.
